Tyson talking here
I must say, I think this is my first time posting on our blog. So, I'll do my best to update everyone.
Our Thanksgiving weekend was relaxing, for the most part. I had Thursday thru Monday scheduled off from work and was hoping and planning on spending time with Kelly, the kids, and other family. I had five days to do it, what a great plan, right?
Thursday- We slept in (how nice) and then went over to Justin & Sandee's for turkey dinner. We spent most our time in the basement around the fire place. The kids sure had fun putting more wood on the fire and toasting marshmallows. Wyatt and Dylan hauled in a lot of fire wood for uncle Justin. Let me tell you, I think Justin was pretty happy because he didn't have to do it later.
Friday- We slept in, again (how wonderful). Thank God Kelly likes to sleep in and doesn't like to get up before the sun. If she did, some of you probably would have seen her in some shopping line somewhere because she likes to shop. Thankfully she values her sleep over the shopping. Once we managed to get out of bed and get ready, we drove to my dad's house and spent some time there. We then went to the mall to let Kelly get in on some black Friday contributions.
Saturday- Guess how we started our day? Yup, we slept in, again. Wyatt, Dylan, and I then went down to the Christmas tree lots and shopped for a tree. We found a tree and brought it home. I hope the people in the brown house down the street don't mind that we cut down their tree (just kidding). Once we got the tree home, Ron & Lacey and Kelly's parents were all here to help decorate it. Well, all was going well until Saturday night. I got sick. I felt like I had been run over by a Peterbilt (not that I really know what that feels like). I had a fever, the chills, achy all over, head ache, sore throat, etc. I was miserable.
Sunday- See the bold print above. I'm so thankful to have a wonderful family to take care of me.
Monday- Not as miserable but still hurtin. Only now, Kelly and three of the kids are complaining of having sore throats too. I couldn't take it anymore, my throat hurt so bad I couldn't drink anything and I know I was dehydrated. I went to the walk-in clinic and found out I have strep throat. Of course, it's contagious. So Kelly and kids all went in later to be checked and we were 6 for 6 on positive strep tests. The Dr was amazed as he hadn't seen a whole family test positive before. The Dr said no school for the kids for the next 24 hrs.
Tuesday- We're all home being contagious and taking our medication. Wyatt was asking about the Monopoly board game in the closet, so we got it out and played. Wyatt, Dylan, and I all played. Of course, I won. It was a learning experience for them but it was cool to watch them count their money and see their minds working through things.
Anyway, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend. Take care and Merry Christmas.
